I had a face lift 5 days ago and woke up with my left ear blocked what could cause this? Is this something that will go away after time? Does this happen often with facelift?

I'm not sure why facelift would create blinking problems if that was the only procedure you had. Nevertheless, the motor nerves to the eyelid are very sensitive and sometimes it take several weeks for normal blinking to recover.
