Mole with Hairs

I have a mole on my left cheek that is hopefully easily removable. My concern is that there are a few hairs growing out of it that I tweeze. Their growth will probably impede healing, so they would need to be removed. Will they be removed via the mole removal, or do they grow so deeply that a separate procedure is required?

Moles with may need special treatment

Especially in moles that exist from birth on or develop in the first two years of life, mole cells my be located deep around the root oft the hair. It would however take several treatments, and likely cost more. Also there is no guarantee the mole would completely disappear.  I would... more

Mole removal

Most moles do have some hairs growing through the middle of them.  If you excise the mole with stitches then the mole and the hairs should be gone.  If you just have it shaved off, the hairs will remain and can be lasered later if needed and if they are darker in color.  Your dermatologist should be able to explain these options to you and the risks and benefits of both options.
