Four Molars Have Been Crowned, Bite Problems and a Fracture?

My front teeth are hitting hard and I have a hairline fracture in my right eye tooth (which also has a root canal). Bite Problems and a Fractured Tooth

Regarding the fractured eye tooth with a root canal, it is always wise to crown a root canal treated tooth to maximize the strength of the remaining tooth structure. If you are having repeated teeth fracturing, your bite should be evaluated. The solutions could range widely from a simple nightguard all the way to orthodontics or having the bite restored.

Front Teeth Hitting Hard and Fracturing

You should immediately see a dentist that is well eucated and experienced in occlusion, whether it be Neuromuscular Occlussion, or Centric Occlusion. If your upper and lower teeth do not occlude (touch eachother when biting together) properly, your teeth and any type of restoration are likely to fracture or fail.

Complicated bite and teeth fractures

It sounds from your description that you most likely have grinding of the teeth called bruxism. That`s a symptom extremely popular in adults that causes the masticatory muscles spasms and causing teeth grinding and attrition. If you notice small fracture lines, so you teeth can be in real danger. Bite Problems

From your description, the first thing I would suggest at the minimum would be a custom made bite guard appliance. If you have the opportunity you should have your bite evaluated by doctors who can advise you about the etiology of your bite problems. They may even suggest orthodontics. Some believe in "occlusal equilibration". This is selective grinding of the teeth. While this may be an immediate improvement in some cases it doesn't last for many... more
