Can I Use a Moisturizer During the Day with Retinol While on Retin A?

I am 38, have acne scars and large pores, I have been using Retin A for 45 days. I use a moisturizer with spf 30 daily but want to know if using a moisturizer, spf 30 with retinol will be too much for my skin?

Retinoids and Moisturizers

I counsel my patients using a prescription topical retinoid to avoid moisturizers with retinol as this may increase the susceptibility to an irritant dermatitis.
