My doctor explained that I have about ten metal clamps left inside. These clamps are used on veins during surgery. Why was this necessary? I developed a navel infection and the metal clamp came out if the infected area.

Thank you for your photo. It will heal slowly on its own if it does not become infected first. I would remove the unhealthy skin to produce a healthy wound that will heal quicker and have less risks of infection.
