3 weeks post op BL & 500cc silicone implants placed med+profile, dual plane it looks as tho my LB is significantly bigger then right. Yes I had this issue prior to surgery. The point was to correct it, make them the same size. Is the bottom of the left breast bigger due to swelling? Will they be the same size? If a revision is required after 6 months, what will my PS do? I don't want to make the left one even smaller, will he put a bigger implant in the right breast?
Answer: Too early to tell Hi. At just three weeks out, it's really a little too early to tell about shape details like this. We need to see how your tissues relax as healing progresses. Typically, after a lift, there's a little "overtightening" effect, that relaxes over 3-6 months. Right now, I would say that you have a nice looking result, even with the minor difference.Since the next bigger implant is a 550 cc - this might over-correct the smaller side. Other options might include adjusting the lift on the left, or perhaps doing a little fat grafting on the right side. Best to communicate with your surgeon about these concerns.

CONTACT NOW Answer: Will my left breast remain bigger than right after BL and BA? Will I need a revision and what's done to correct this? On your pre-op photo-- your Left breast is larger than the right. 3 wks Post-op-- swelling is still there, but similar size implants would not correct the asymmetry. However, it does appear that you are less asymmetric post-operatively which may be a result of your surgeon removing slightly more tissue from the left to lessen the asymmetry. Give it more time to heal

Answer: Asymmetry 3 weeks post-op breast lift plus implants is entirely normal . . . . . . especially if you started out with asymmetry, and had identical implants placed. Your surgeon may have compensated for pre-operative size discrepancy by removing more skin and tissue from the larger breast, in which case your present asymmetry may be entirely differences in swelling. As other have stated, this will take months to settle and resolve, making any final discrepancy likely less.Absolute symmetry is both unrealistic and impossible, but significant improvement is certainly every surgeon's goal, and I hope your surgeon took the smallest amount of "extra" skin from your smaller breast, and only the true difference "more" from the larger. This would give you eventual near-symmetry, though the left seems more swollen now.If true asymmetry remains after 6-12 months, then a larger implant can be placed in your smaller (right) breast. But it's truly too early to worry about this now. Relax and let things heal--you look great thus far. Samll adjustments in skin and scars can also be considered when/if the time comes. Keep in close contact with your surgeon, s/he did a great job and can help you improve things more if required or requested, but not yet. Best wishes! Dr. Tholen

Answer: Asymmetry 3 weeks after breast lift and augmentation. You are very early in recovery and much of what you see may be postoperative swelling. He will definitely change over the next 8-12 weeks. I would wait 3 months to make a final judgment. Often even if an attempt is made to reduce the larger breasts the basic structural difference between the 2 breasts can still be visible. However I expect you'll be much better in the weeks to come. Answer: At 3 Weeks Post-Op, Hard to Say This is still early on in your healing process, so swelling is still present. Looking at your pre-op photo, the left side requires a more extensive lift than the right. A larger implant should be placed on the right to try to correct this issue. However, going larger than 500cc can put a large amount of stress on the structures of the chest. I suggest to wait until 6 months post-op to properly evaluate your results. In the meantime, you can try using an upper pull bandeau to try to even them out.
