Five days post upper eye blethoplasty. All looks well, with the exception of one small area. The skin is raised, and almost has the appearance of a skin tag. Was the suture pulled too tight? Or not tight enough? This is my first cosmetic surgery ever and I'm a bit concerned. Should I be? Thanks in advance.
Answer: Blepharoplasty sutures Thank you for the photos and your question. As this is your first surgery, it is not surprising that you may have doubts about what to expect. According to the photos, it appears to be healing well. Eyelid skin is very thin. As long as the edges are approximated, it heals very well. There may be some swelling between the sutures but the sutures do not look too tight. If there any any new changes of concern, you should check with your surgeon. I am sure they also want you to get the best result possible.

Answer: Normal healing after eyelid surgery Your photos appear to show normal healing at 5 days after surgery. The body does a great job at healing itself. You should be patient with your body and give it time to heal. It does take initially a few weeks to stabilize and then further months for the swelling and wound healing to complete itself. I hope this was helpful. If you still have concerns, discuss them with your surgeon.

Answer: Too soon to determine final outcome The eyelids have remarkable ability to heal after cosmetic eyelid surgery. It is difficult to tell from the picture if the suture is too tight or too loose, but It may take time ( 3 to 6 months) before healing stabilizes. Often initial irregularities resolve within that period of time. Patience is important and frequent contact with your surgeon is advised.
