Sutures in the muscle during a mini tummy tuck
Traditionally, the suturing of the muscles during a mini tummy tuck goes up to the belly button. If one wanted to, they could lift the skin above the belly button and sutures could be placed there, but it is not as easy to do as during a full tummy tuck.

Muscle plication suturing done during mini tummy tuck surgery generally extends from the belly button down to the pubic bone. This has to be done judiciously to avoid an increased intra-abdominal pressure that would result in bulging/prominence of the upper abdominal wall.

Dear Purplearms, This is a hard question to answer since there are so many variations of mini-tummy tucks out there. In most techniques, the incision is very low, just above the pubic area, and horizontal, side-to-side- not up and down. This allows the incision to hide in swimwear and undergarments.
