I am looking at having a tummy tuck soon after carrying twins. Are the risks higher/different or the same as any other patient if I have mild cardiomyopathy caused by the pregnancy? Thanks

Elective Surgery should only occur under optimized circumstances
Hi there-

Criticial to reach stable weight first
I don't perform procedures after pregnancy until patients have reached there baseline weight. Futhermore the procedure can be very limiting for 2 to 6 weeks after surgery depending on the amount of plication done, plus liposuction if necessary and general recovery after any procedure.

Tummy tuck risks
The ultimate risk of all surgery we do is death -- if you have a medical problem, this must be discussed with the Plastic surgeon and the medical doctor taking care of you. If you were my patient, I would make sure that enough time has passed since the delivery for you to come back to a normal pre pregnancy status and you would need medical clearance from a cardiologist I know and trust. Plastic surgery is elective - there is no reason to take unnecessary risks.
