Microdermabrasion for Reddish, Blotchy Skin on the Body?

My skin all over my body seems blotchy, reddish, and extremely discolored. I am looking for a surgery of some sort that will cure this problem and give me an even skin tone. Will Microdermabrasion do the trick?

Uneven, blotchy skin on the body

I agree that it is difficult to know what would be helpful without seeing pictures. I prefer to use Fraxel on the chest, back and arms to even out the skin color since microdermabrasion is not usually effective for sun damaged skin on the body. We have had good results on the arms and hands with the Fraxel laser.
