I just had my first IPL about 30 days ago. And yesterday I went on a boat trip from 10 to 6 with some sun exposure, but always had sunscreen and hat. And when I got home, I saw some brown spots resurfacing lightly. Thinking about getting another treatment in a week for resurfaced spots and older ones. And next time, how long should I stay out the sun? I went on a hike 2 weeks for 2 hrs and I was fine, no extra brown spots. So should I stay away from the sun for over a month? P

If the skin immediately turns grey/purple this is usually a sign of too high of settings and skin burning. This will likely lead to blisters or scabs in the next few days and will require wound care . Best, Dr. Emer.
