Overseas there was an early acceptance of combining liposuction with a tummy tuck which gives you better waiste definition and body contouring.  That has changed in the US recently.  There are also some techniques that are performed overseas that are more agressive but do carry additional risk.  Agressive abdominal muscle dissection and plication can improve waist definition but comes with a higher risk of complications.  Overseas rib resection to improve waist definition is also performed. While some of the results are impressive, most people would find this an extremely drastic step to take to improve cosmetic contour.  There are excellent Plastic Surgeons delivering excellent body contouring results abroad and right her in the U.S.  Do some more research and be prudent. You are more likely to get an hour-glass result with a low body weight , a strong muscle wall repair and with additional liposuction to the sides of the abdomen and the flanks where indicated .

A tummy tuck is like having a suit made . The tailor can only cut the suit as slim as you are . If you have a low body weight all of the above manoeuvres will accentuate your slim waist by making the skin and muscle wall repair as snug as possible .

So get to your best weight before surgery and you will have a safer procedure and a better cosmetic result .
