What is the Best Method to Treat Fresh Scars (1-2 Weeks)?

I had a tummy tuck on aug 27, since then i have had steri-strips on. It has now been about 10 days and the strips are starting to come off in some places. My PS said I could start using vit E oil on them to keep them moist (or mederma, but i heard you shouldn't use this on fresh scars) I want to get the absolute best results, so im willing to do whatever. Should i invest in silicone strips? Should i use the vitE oil and put some kind of plastic wrap on it so it doesnt dry? Any suggestions?
