Liposuction of the jawline trims it up great

Liposuction under local anesthesia trims up the jawline great for about $2500.  Sincerely, david hansen,md

Botox for Jawline reduction?

Hi Mai.  It does not sound like Botox is a good option for you.  Although off label (not FDA approved), Botox is used in the masseter (jaw) muscle to soften a square jawline.  This does not sound like your issue though.   Without viewing your face, you are better served checking in with a seasoned facial plastic surgeon in your area to evaluate your options.  Good luck.

Jawline Liposuction is not a good idea, but there are other potential options

Hi Mai, Although it is possible that the weight on your jawline is purely related to weight gain, the only way to find out is to try to return to closer to your original weight.  Weight gain on the body does translate to some weight gain on the face.  If you don't believe me, simply watch a single episode of the Biggest Loser on NBC.  Of course it is extreme in their cases, but it clearly shows the correlation. It is difficult to say what exactly, occurred 2... more

Jawline volume reduction needs consultation by a Plastic Surgeon

As you have already had a procedure done on your face, you definitely need to be examined by a Plastic Surgeon to see what options may work for you. The key is to consult with a surgeon that does perform both facial liposuction/volume adjustment AND masseter/jawline reduction so that what is truly appropriate for you will be offered.

Efficacy of Botox to treat the jawline muscle

Botox is effective in reducing the size of the jawline when the over-size is being caused by the masseter muscle. In your case, it sounds like the size of your jaw is not related to the muscle, but caused more by your recent weight gain. I would advise speaking to your original surgeon, but based on your question, it does not sound like Botox would be an effective treatment for you.

Botox, Dysport, Wrinkle Treatment, Beverly Hills Botox Dysport, Los Angeles Botox Dysport

Ok, I have used Botox for over 20 years on the forehead and face to reduce unwanted lines and wrinkles and to reduce the size of enlarged facial muscles.  However, it sounds like the excess along your jaw line is not an over-seized muscle (that would react to Botox treatments) but from excess fat which will not be effected by Botox injections.  Fat transfer can migrate or dissolve creating an undesireable effect which is why I only use fillers like Perlane, Radiesse,... more

Lipoinjection to face and weight gain produces unpredictable results

Lipoinjection of the fat is not a practical option. clearly the best apprach would be to lose weight. It is unlikely that the fat moved to a lower position on your face.

Botox to narrow a jawline.

Botox can be used to effectively narrow a square jaw by causing the masseter muscle to diminish in size. However, this does not sound like the answer to your problem. Fat grafting once healed acts like any other fat in your body, ie. when you gain weight it gets larger. I think much of your problem will resolve itself if you go back to the weight you were at when you had the fat grafting done. This is an issue you should discuss with your surgeon.

Botox does not dissolve fat. BE CAUTIOUS.

Mai, From the way you are asking your questions, I think it is EXTREMELY important that you go to see THREE board-certified plastic surgeons or facial plastic surgeons (other than the original doctor you may have gone to) before you do any treatments at all. Botox does not dissolve fat anywhere on the body, and it is unlikely that if your lower face seems to have increased fat deposits, that "Botox masseter reduction" of the chewing muscle itself, would achieve anything... more

Botox and Liposuction

Hi Mia- Interesting questionings! I think the best advice I can give is to recommend that you see a few board certified plastic surgeons and get their advice face to face. Without pics or a face to face consultation there really is no way that any surgeon can give you useful advice. Good Luck! Dr. C johnconnorsmd.com

Botox to Narrow Jawline

Hi Mai, As other plastic surgeons have already stated, photographs would be helpful. A few general points. Typically, fat injections do not move from the initial injection area. Liposuction is normally not performed on the face. Weight loss is preferred and better for overall health. Wide jawline is younger patients is usually from bone structure or large jaw muscles. Botox treatment for the large muscles can help narrow the jawline. Botox does not help with excess facial... more

Jawline issue

You failed to post any photos so the best advise is to have in person opinions from 3 boarded surgeons in your area. From MIAMI Dr. Darryl j. Blinski

Jawline issue

First, fat does not move if it was injected along the cheek. If you gained 13 lbs it is likely that the fat cells in your jaw region just expanded with the weight.  Treatment of your problem really deserves an exam.

Fat reduction from jawline

Botox will not reduce the fat injections on the jaw. You may need to wait for time to reduce the fat volume. Iposuction may not be effective.

Botox won't contour your jawline very much.

I wouldn't count on botox to do much to your jawline.  Some docs are injecting the platysma along the jawline and calling it the "Nefertiti Lift".  I don't see much improvement with these injections.  To contour the jawline, Ulthera, laser lipo, or surgery is needed.

Jawline Reduction

If you have extra fat along the jawline, then Botox will not do anything - you need liposuction.  However, without pictures and without examining you, it is difficult to give specific advice.  Botox is useful in thinning the face when injected in patients with large masseter muscles.   Good luck.

Botox is effective in treating a wide jawline due to large masseter (chewing) muscles.

Botox is a safe and effective treatment for large masseter muscles that create a wide jawline.  This only works if you have large masseter muscles (the large muscles on each side of the jaw that tense up with chewing or grinding your teeth).    If you have had fat grafting and subsequent weight gain, the width of the jawline may be due to fat however, and botox does not treat fatty tissue, ( only muscle).  Getting back to the weight you were at the time of treatment... more

Jawline contouring

If you were happy with your jawline contour BEFORE you gained weight, then losing weight should get you back to that result.
