What are the risks from mesotherapy?

I keep running across new stories and articles about mesotherapy and how it's super effective on cellulite and excess fat. My thighs need help and I've considered getting mesotherapy, but I'm scared off by the claims that mesotherapy isn't regulated. I read about a woman in Utah who is suing her. Can you help me understand the mesotherapy risks?

Keep seeing websites praising the benefit of mesotherapy for all your bad skin and fatty areas...mesotherapy is based on bunk science. It's a cocktail of "mystery" ingredients that are at best soothing, at worst dangerous to you. Cellulite isn't really treatable, fat removal is, but through lipo which is a big commitment.

"mesotherapy is based on bunk science" That's been practised successfully for over 50 years in France and is taught to all doctors in the faculties of medicine there. Mesotherapy allows for the effective treatment of hundreds of medical conditions, we only read about the aesthetic applications, and the more risky ones which aren't strictly mesotherapy anyway, but are about penetrating much deeper into fat. "a cocktail of "mystery" ingredients" In relation to mesotherapys' general medical treatments, the ingredients are often ones that would normally be taken orally. The advantage of mesotherapy (and the idea behind its origination) is that certain conditions could be better treated by introducing a small amount of medicine directly to the problem area, rather than taking 50 times more than necessary, because the medication has to go round the whole body to affect the area. With respect of the aesthetic beauty treatments... Does a doctor know what L-Carnitine is and how it functions naturally in the body? Is vitamin C not one of the most scientifically researched cosmetic ingredient of all? If you're considering having meso-treatments, ask your practitioner for an explanation of the ingredients used and research them yourself, so you can make an informed decision. "Cellulite isn't really treatable" It is, of course, but for many women, a combination of procedures can be required for best results. Ie. Meso & massage. Cellulite can always return due to the hormonal balances that are thought to cause it, so top-up treatments may be required. "fat removal is, but through lipo which is a big commitment." And lipo could kill you! Meso fat reduction can be done without any controversial ingredients but they're combined with changes to diet and with an increase in exercise levels. Meso Weight/fat loss should be done with an important emphasis on improving lifestyle in general, or that fat will just come back.

There have been quite a few women who have had cardiac events attributed to lipodissolve injections. Young woman. My take on it - as a medical professional - the risk is not worth it. Eat right and exercise. If you have trouble spots, so what. It's better to have some fat and be happy than to look good in your coffin.

Is this mystery injection scary stuff LEGAL to give to people?? How, if no one knows what IS in the injections? What does the BBB, Better business Bureau have to say about it mesotherapy? How many complaints have been filed against mesotherapy lipodissolve company? How about lipozap company? They seem also dodgy too. I'd love to get lipo, do I have 5k for it. Thanks for your info esp. if and HOW this can be legal in the US.

I had to rush my best friend to an ER because of a severe, SEVERE staff infection. Now I know what you might think, any procedure has that risk, well not only did the spa people tell her that, "oh it is ok thats all the fat moving close together". ARE YOU NUTS?? well 10 hours after she was told this I found her on the floor. THIS PROCEDURE IS NOT FDA APPROVED. Other Side Effects at the injection site can include scarring, pigmentation, or ulcer formation. Sometimes, patients may feel a small lump under the injection site. further more... the reason this is such a wonder is that wher does all the fat go? It is unclear what exactly happens to the fat that is dissolved in Mesotherapy treatments for cellulite and localized fat removal. While the people trying to sell Mesotherapy claim this fat is broken down and excreted, such claims remain scientifically unproven. Women of America, I know that we all want the confidence of a slim body... but do it the natural way PLEASE!!! PLEASE... even if your not happy and your excersizing and dieting.... it is your body, love it and own it
