Is 9,000cc an extreme amount of fat to be removed in an outpatient procedure?

I had 9,000cc removed from lower upper abdomen and flanks in an outpatient clinic and am very swollen to the point that my compression garment is cutting me into . Is this normal or should this much have been taken at once .
