Hi i had a rhinoplasty 7 years ago which has left me with some notching of the nostrils. I've noticed that the tip is shinier due to the thin skin and it has a bit of a distinct circle shape where the thin skin is. I was wondering whether its likely that the tip will continue to shrink and get even thinner over the years. Also is there anything that can be done to correct this and make the skin on the tip look less shiny.

Answer: 7 years post op Rhinoplasty, I noticed that the nose tip is thin. Is there anything that can be done to correct this?
In general, it is not abnormal for the tip to be turned up more than usual after surgery. It settles to its final position after a few weeks to a few months. The final result of surgery may not be evident for 18-24 months. It is important to be patient during the healing process, as it can take...
Piercings can be lost, get caught on things, or cause electrical arcs if cautery is used. If the area in the nose is operated on then the plane where the piercing penetrates can be closed during surgery. I will have patients remove piercings or place tape over them if they are not easily removed...
Seasons won't really effect the results or increase your chance of getting sick. A rhinoplasty will make your nose "feel" like a bad cold whenever you have the procedure. If you have a season where your allergies are really bad or you always get sick then you may want to wait for a time...
