At age 35 I developed sudden hyper pigmentation (HP) on my fronthead and cheeks. It's symmetrical and looks like melasma. I was prescribed a topical containing a mix of fluocinolone/hydroquinone/tretinoin. This helped during winter. But as soon as my skin sees the slightest bit of light (not sun) HP appears again. My doctor says laser won't help further and can not remove the cause in the deepest skinlayers. What's your opinion? Will any treatment make my skin more resistant to HP? Peels? laser?
