Medications During or After Smart Lipo?

Do you have to take or be injected with any medication during or after Smart Lipo, other than the antibiotic? If so, is it possible to get a reaction ftrom it?

Medications during Smartlipo

The only meds which are necessary during smartlipo are the antibiotics (oral) and tumescent anesthetic fluid (injected).  Occasionally, patients would like a relaxing medication such as Valium or Xanax (oral) which can make you feel more comfortable during the procedure.  All of these medications are safe and effective with minimal side effects when used under the direction of your surgeon.  Good luck.

Medications - Before/During/After Smart Lipo

We give prescriptions to patients for antibiotics (start 3 days prior) and a pain medication for afterwards, take if needed. Also, we inject demerol and also use tumescent fluid to numb the area of treatment.
