Discrepancy in Massaging HA Fillers?

Some doctors advise patients to gently massage HA fillers and some state that they should not. A two finger technique with the thumb inside the mouth has been discussed. Why this discrepancy?

Bottom line on massage after fillers

There is absolutely no need to massage the area of HA injection. Some molding can be done by the injector at the time of the injection but it should be left alone after that. If done correctly there is no need to massage and further dissipate the HA after it has been placed. That being said ice afterwards is a big plus.
