Hello. I had braces like many others for 3 years. My teeth came out perfect and I think they still are. Although, my othrodontist thinks not, I am getting an overbite and it is noticeable and lately it's been really bothering me. He said it could be from a tongue thrust or my wisdom teeth but I'm not getting a real answer. I don't want to spend the money on a new retainer if it's not going to do anything. Nor do I want to spend 2500 on taking out my wisdom teeth if they are coming in fine....

Answer: An overbite can come back after treatment.
You didn't specify how your orthodontics was done but I suspect that because you are unhappy with your narrow smile that bicuspid teeth were extracted instead of expanding your underdeveloped palate. I hear from patients every single week who are dissatisfied with their orthodontic treatment...
You orthodotic treatment should have never been started until the problem of thumb sucking had been addressed and dealt with. Until you get help for this habit, orthodotnics will not work!
I would absolutely get orthodontic treatment again, only this time I would have it done correctly. The first time you had braces you may have ended up with straight teeth, but you never addressed the much more serious (and aesthetically important) issue of your jaw to jaw discrepancy problem....
