The exposure was at sunset and indirect for just a minute or two. My face is very red, hot and the skin is tight like a severe sunburn but I don't have any blisters. Do I need to worry or contact my doctor?

Yes PDT can help as the chemical ALA or Methyl ALA is concentrated in the oil or sebaceous glands. I normally use red light at 630nm compared to blue at 430 +nm as red light penetrates deeper. I usually do not encourage PDT as treatment for seb hyper, unless this is covered by insurance....

question and we have treated all skin types with PDT and the blue light source
for acne. We can definitely use it to improve the acne, but any scarring on the
skin will probably not be affected by having PDT performed. We like to have our
patients maximize medical therapy first...
