So I just had Vaser Lipo a few days ago & I am in my compression garment, I was thinking how long it will take for me to heal completely & if how much weight is removed maybe helps you heal quicker (I had 1L removed, will that be faster to heal from then if I had more that needed to be removed? I had my pecs, flanks & lower & upper abs done!
Answer: About the Recovery Following Vaser Lipo Some studies show that there is less injury to the body with Vaser than with traditional #liposuction. Recovery from Vaser Liposuction is based on the level of soreness and bruising experienced by the patient. But, it can vary among patients. As with traditional liposuction, there are no large incisions or effect on the muscle and other underlying tissue. Therefore, #healing time may be less than anticipated by most. Therefore, Vaser patients may experience less #pain or discomfort, #swelling (#edema) and bruising post procedure due to the nature of the technique. A quicker #recovery for a patient may be two to three weeks without any strenuous activity. This includes the short period of suggested rest of 12-24 hours soon following the procedure. #Exercise and activity are contingent on how the patient feels. Mild activity is not likely to hinder recovery or healing or create problems with recovery. However, it is recommended to acquire your doctor's permission to do so. Once you begin exercising again, start gently and let your body tell you what it can tolerate. Don’t rush! Swelling after #Vaser liposuction is not uncommon. Gentle #walking may increase circulation and help to alleviate swelling. But you must not strain or push yourself. Also, if you were provided a post-procedure #garment, be sure you are wearing it until prescribed otherwise by your doctor. The purpose of the post-procedure #garment is to provide some gentle #support and to reduce swelling. If it feels too tight or causes pain, take it off. Many patients wear the #elastic garment for several weeks after procedures, as directed by their doctor; some choose to wear it longer for several months for comfort. After one to three days, you should be able to return to work. As I advise my patients, if your work keeps you sedentary, you may return whenever you feel up to it. If your work is strenuous, wait until your work activity does not cause any superficial pain. Some employers will modify a person’s job duties so they can back sooner, but without physical activity. Our office can provide our patients with a note stating they are not to engage in strenuous activity for a specified period of time. The note will not disclose what procedure they have underwent. Therefore, you may have to request a similar note from your surgeon if you are not independently employed. If you have concerns about your healing, or pain that you question to be unusual, it is important to call your plastic surgeon to discuss these further asked to be examined.

Answer: VASER Liposuction and Recovery -- All depends on the technique used not the device What matters most is the technique used and the doctors skill. Healing/downtime is no different on more or less fat removed. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Healing after liposuction. Hello, and thank you for this question. Your recovery following liposuction surgery depends on many factors. Certainly the amount the that you had had removed as well as the areas treated, and her general health wouldn't play into this. We've recommended compression garments for approximately 2-4 weeks following the surgery. I recommend patients do not engage in vigorous physical activities for approximately 4 weeks following the procedure. Also some patients may have more bruising than others. As a general rule the majority of swelling is gone in approximately 1-2 months. Patient's typically have some burning and numbness for approximately 6 months. In a worst-case scenario the patient's may take up to a year for their final results. Best of luck with your recovery.

Answer: VASER Liposuction & Recovery There are really four general variable that affect your recovery time: (1) The Technology can make a significant difference regarding you recovery. The major difference between regular liposuction (Suction-Assisted Liposuction; SAL) and VASER liposuction (VAL) is that with SAL you rip the small blood vessels and lymphatics out at the same time you suck and rip the fat out using a regular liposuction cannula. VAL uses Ultrasonic energy to shake the fat way from these small blood vessels, lymphatics, and connective tissues, leaving most of this structures intact and undamaged, while successfully removing the fat. This has a direct influence on your recovery from a time, bruising, pain and swelling standpoint. (2) Technique can also influence recovery. removing only the lower layer of fat (deep fat layer) vs. removing both the deeper and more superficial layers of fat will determine your recover as well. Add in "Superficial Skin Tightening Technique" and this will also increase recovery time. (3) Training and experience of your surgeon will also affect recovery, as the more experienced surgeons tend to be more efficient with the procedures, resulting in less recovery time. (4) Finally, you the patient are a variable in recovery as well. If you have had previous liposuction in an area you are having liposuctioned, this will increase recovery time as well. Some patients also just naturally swell more than others (for unknown reasons) and take longer to recover.
