Sorry to ask another question. I know I've asked a few already. I saw my surgeon and he was very helpful. He gave me 2 cortisone injections in the groin to help the hard swelling subside. Swelling is now very limited, and I've been massaging the area with Hirudoid cream(Heparinoid 3mg/g) which is helping too. However,I am now seeing dark bruising emerge in patches over the groin and the area aches. My surgeon also mentioned the inguinal canal. How long does it take to recover from this trauma?

Bruising aft er liposuction

Usually the bruising and swelling of the pubic area and the groins (including inguinal canal) can persist for at least 4 months after surgery. During the first 6-8 weeks I recommend massaging and afterwards time will gradually help to reduce your swelling.
