I wanted to get my stomach flatten without the tuck scar. Is it possible to just get lipo with a small scar instead of the tuck with a larger scar?

Liposuction versus full tummy tuck
You ask a very common but important question.
The answer depends directly on how much extra skin and tummy laxity you have.
Liposuction address excess fatty tissue and does some moderate skin tightening. But, if you have a significant amount of excess skin, only removing the skin with a tummy tuck will adequately address this problem.

Liposuction Vs. Tummy Tuck...
Hi there-
The very most important thing to understand is that for the vast majority of patients, this question is really an attempt to cheat the percentages, right?
In other words, there are a great many women in the world who have been told that in order to look their best they need to consider an abdominoplasty or tummy tuck, but for various reasons (the scar, the recovery, the costs...) they would prefer to believe that someone somewhere has an option that will allow them to look...

Tummy tuck versus Liposuction is always a dilemna
This is the same dilemmna that a lot of my patients face. The answer is that it all depends on the thinckness of your skin and how much it will retract back to your muscles after the fat is removed. If you have had several pregnancies, and if you have a lot of stretch marks then you are going to be happier with a scar that will fade than even looser skin after liposuction.
Without a photo or an exam I can't tell you which is better for you but a Board Certified Plastic...

Lipo versus Tummy Tuck
There is a not a one size fits all solution for all patients. If you have loose skin, then you likely need a tuck. If you just have extra fat without haning skin, then you may be able to get away with just liposuction. However, you would need a consultation to know for sure. If you post picutres, we may be able to give you more specific advice.
Good Luck.

Tummy tuck vs liposuction
Without photos it is hard to even guess. If you have laxity of the skin, liposuction may only make it worse. If you have good quality skin and some fat, perhaps you are a good candidate for liposuction.

Could It Be Possible You Only Need Lipo; Not a Tuck?
Impossible to answer without a posted photo! But better yet see in person a boarded P{Ss in your area. But in general yes in some cases lipo can avoid a full TT/.

To tuck or not to tuck? This is the question
That is an issue we as plastic surgeons wrestle with daily. As a general rule we hate scars too. They are a trade off we often have to made. The American Society of Plastic Surgery has a website you can access to help you find a board certified plastic surgeon in your area for an evaluation. Good luck

Liposuction versus tummy tuck
Without photos and an examination of you, it is impossible to provide you with an accurate answer specific for you. Liposuction and a tummy tuck are not equally interchangable procedures as one doesn't equally replace what the other can accomplish. A tummy tuck will treat lax, excess skin and a stretched out underlying muscle layer whereas liposuction largely deals with fat deposits and in particular, more localized fat deposits. If your situation just involves fat without loose skin...

Tummy Tuck Or Liposuction
Neither a tummy tucks nor liposuction are treatment for obese abdomens. Patients who have localized areas of fat without significant skin excess are ideal candidates for liposuction alone. On the other hand, patients who also have a significant amount of excess skin are better suited for a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty.

Lipo vs Tummy tuck
The answer is that the recommendation for surgery depends on the patient's condition. In most cases, the condition of your abdomen will dictate which of the two procedures is right for you. If you have sagging skin or skin without elasticity or have had pregnancies or a c-section, then lipo will not produce a satisfactory result. You should see a board certified plastic surgeon who can discuss which procedure is appropriate.

Tummy Tuck or Liposuction?
Thank you for the question.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to give you precise advise without direct examination.
Some patients are able to “flatten” their abdomens with liposuction; whether they are a good candidate or not will depend on their history and physical examination. For example, a history of pregnancies and/or significant weight gain/ loss may make it and possible to achieve satisfactory results with liposuction only.

Liposuction or a tummy tuck
Whether liposuction alone will give you a flat tummy so you can avoid a tummy tuck can be determined by an examination in most cases. It also depends on what you mean by a flat tummy. For example, if someone has little intra-abdominal fat, the fat below the muscles, along with good muscle tone and minimal skin excess without stretch marks, then a liposuction alone might give you the desired appearance. If you have any significant amount of intra-abdominal fat, loose skin, stretch marks and...
