Are Lumineers Truly Pain-free?
- Asked 2 years ago
Could you tell me about the no drill, no shots aspect of Lumineers by Cerinate porcelain veneers?
Lumineers have very limited group of patients who can be good candidates and the results will be long-term. Adequate esthetic strong veneers require some preparation of the tooth for better bonding and resistance. If your major fear is the pain- there`re multiple ways to avoid that, f.e. sedation. Look carefully into the options of the treatment before decision about your final choice.
Pain free Lumineers are rare
The cases that are true "no drill" cases are people that have straight teeth before the case even starts. Most people with straight teeth simply want whitening, and people with some crookedness or crowding desire a more ideal length, shape or color.
Even the ideal Lumineers cases will require post cementation polishing, and while MOST people say they didn't feel a thing, others will complain of discomfort.
Are they truly pain free? Not really, but they might be.

Yes, but they have many limitations and very few people are candidates for them. They break and stain easily, can form un-helathy ledges at the gumline which traps food and bacteria are difficult to block out dark natural teeth. CAUTION CAUTION CAUTION (Did I mention CAUTION?)
Are Lumineers Pain Free?
Yes, with rare exceptions. Because we don't have to cut teeth beyond enamel 95% of the time.
