I am told that I have low blood pressure. According to my doctor, as long as I feel good and I'm not overly tired, this can be ok. My concern is that it might have an affect on a tummy tuck I have been considering. Will it cause slow wound healing, poor blood flow, etc?

Low Blood Pressure without symptoms should not affect Tummy Tuck
A Low Blood pressure baseline that is asymptomatic and considered "healthy" by your PMD generally goes along with longevity. It should not affect the outcome or recovery time following your tummy tuck. However you may be sensitive to pain medications or dehydration which could make you dizzy if you stand up or change your position quickly (postural hypotension) so just be a careful to move slowly.

Low Blood Pressure probably not a problem
I would not be too concerned about your blood pressure being too low as well as you stay well hydrated and follow all of your Plastic Surgeons recommendations. Be sure you get medical clearance from your medical doctor to be sure everyone agrees.

Low Blood Pressure, by itself, is not a risk for Tummy Tuck Surgery
Hi there-
As long as you are otherwise healthy, and you don't have symptoms from your blood pressure being low (light-headedness, fainting, etc..), this finding should not contraindicate your desired surgery.
Low blood pressure is seen often in my most fit, young patients, and in these women it is simply a manifestation of their high level of cardiovascular health and fitness.

Low blood pressure and a tummy tuck surgery
As your doctor said your low blood pressure is OK as long as you feel okay. As far as a tummy tuck is concerned low blood pressure would make the complication of a hematoma less likely and therefore it could be helpful.
The problem of high blood pressure is more common after any surgery because of pain and this is where some patients develope hematomas.

Low Blood Pressure and Tummy Tuck
The safety of any surgery and, more importantly, your own well being is critically dependent on HOW LOW is is your low blood pressure. Most young women and athletic women run "low" blood pressures in general this poses not risk whatsoever. However, on the other side of the spectrum, in elderly patients who already have plaques in their blood vessels and in whom a slightly higher blood pressure is NEEDED to perfuse the brain, heart and kidneys, a drop in the pressure may cause a...

How low is low: blood pressure and tummy tuck
How low is low? It would be unusual for your low blood pressure to cause a significant problem. If a thorough evaluation of your condition has been completed it would be optimal for your physician to provide a record of your laboratory studies for the anesthesia personnel. Rarely, low blood pressure requires treatment with medications and in these instances, it is imperative that your anesthesiologist be fully aware.

Blood pressure and plastic surgery
Before having any elective surgery, especially plastic surgery, it is very important that you have medical clearance to ensure that there is no medical reason that may complicate your surgery or your recovery. As long as all is well and you are medically optimized, then you should do well. Good luck.

Low blood pressure and tummy tuck surgery or recovery
Usually low pressure may be a sign of anemia or other medical issues. Before considering upon having ANY surgery go get a clearance to determine if you have any medical issues.

Low blood pressure and tummy tuck
As long as your doctor clears you for elective surgery, this should not have an effect on your wound healing and risk of infection. You would obviously need to have routine bloodwork done prior to surgery to rule out anemia or any other medical issues. Good luck, /nsn.

Tummy tuck with low blood pressure
Generally speaking low blood pressure is a good thing to have unless associated with shock after acute blood loss, etc. I would not be concerned about performing a tummy tuck on you assuming there are no other medical conditions which would make you a high risk.

Tummy tuck with low blood pressure
It really depends on how low is your blood pressure. Typically, a low blood pressure does not preclude a tummy tuck procedure. You blood pressure can be improved by taking fluid after the surgery. You just need to make sure that your red blood cell count is not too low.
