I am 6 weeks post op from facelift/platysmaplasty, can I go back to yoga/pilates?

although I do allow my patients to go back to reasonably vigourous exercise after six weeks I usually advise against yoga for the first 12 weeks. This is because of some poses such as down dog which can involve a Rush of blood to the area. Frequent increases in blood pressure at an early stage can inhibit settling postsurgery.

Recovery time from a #facelift varies from person to person, but patients can generally expect to be presentable within three weeks from surgery. Patients should expect #swelling, #bruising, and #discoloration of the skin during this phase of recovery (swelling normally goes down after 48 hours; most bruising will go away within two weeks).
