When does a full incision blepharoplasty (double eyelid surgery) heal completely and look natural?

Most patients are sociable after the first week, but with a full incision procedure, it will take a year for the scar to heal completely. You will notice changes in the incision and the swelling around your eyelids as time progresses. Be sure to follow the postop instructions of your surgeon.

It takes over a year for any incision to "heal completely." However, most of this healing is below the surface and unseen and unfelt. It takes several months for the swelling to completely subside, but most of this is not readily noticeable by the majority of people looking at you. Sutures are out by 3-5 days. With make-up, most people can return to normal social activities in 4-7 days. I personally went back to the office at 5 days with no one making a comment.
