Cheek Implant recovery. Why do I still have pain and tightness after 6 months?

inter1010, My personal significant experience with cheek implants started over 20 years ago. In the beginning with no experience I was concerned about prolonged swelling. I have learned however, that swelling in the cheeks from that operation lasts a year. So in your case you have a ways to go for the final shape. The golf ball look could be from a blood clot after surgery but without pictures it is difficult to analyze. If it looks that way on both sides the implants may be too big for your face or they were put in too tight. Healing feelings of some degree of tightness but usually not much pain at all in the cheeks but could be still sore and uncomfortable in the nasal folds. Any infection in your body and any dental work including cleaning should be covered by antibiotics. It sounds like your having a bit more trouble than usual. If you had swelling at day 50 and nasolabial fold liposuction,  you may still have soreness in that cheek.  I would give it time.  It will soften and heal over time.  If you have strep throat, I am assuming you are on antibiotics.  Your cheek implants should be fine.  If the pain increases, you may want to see your doctor.
