I had a tummy tuck 5 weeks ago after a week it looked amazing and flat despite swelling now it is settling down I appear to have a loose bulge just above my scar from hip to hip (which is quite high) there seems to be excess skin?? how can this be is this normal? will it have to be re tightened?

At 5 weeks, i would not worry about having loose skin, etc. still.  You are probably still swollen and distended in the lower area, and it can take 3-4 months for everything to fully resolve.  I would have you wearing a firm compression garment for at least 2 months to help retrain the skin that is left and help get rid of any swelling that may still be there.  I would discuss this with your surgeon if possible.  I hope this helps.

Gathered, bunched or loose skin around high incision with tummy tuck (abdominoplasty)

Occasionally the skin is bunched or gathered around the incision around a tummy tuck by taking tension away from the incision to allow it to heal without tension. This can make the deep tissues feel firm as well. Discuss thisi with your surgeon.

Loose skin after tummy tuck

This situation is not the normal.  You may or may not have something that needs to be surgically corrected or it may self correct.  Have a frank discussion with your doctor, and set a time line and a plan.
