Stitch Removal After Accident. How Long Should I Wait?

I had about 20 stitches placed across my eyebrow, intersecting it, Fri morning around 2am at the ER, by a resident doctor. Accident happened Thurs night around 8pm. They said I should return in 3 to 5 days for removal of stitches, is this accurate, or should it be a longer wait? I Am 36 Yrs Old, it Didn't Penetrate Fatty Tissue?
