You don't need to stop using salicylic acid before starting RetinA. In fact, through it's ability to exfoliate the skin, salicylic acid will help the RetinA be more effective. As the two together can be drying and irritating, especially in colder/dryer months, just make sure you don't use them more frequently than your skin can tolerate.
