Purple scar on forehead
Wound healing and that goes for scar healing will heal, in general, 60% at 6 weeks, and 80% at 6 months approximately. This is based on wound healing studies. I would wait at least 6 months to up to 2 years before considering anything. That is if you are patient and depending on how it looks. A depressed scar however is not likely to raise up in this period. With the different level, i.e. depressed, you want the scar revision to level the scar to the level of the surrounding tissue. For the majority of people, full scar maturation may take a year or more and that includes the purple coloration. Ethnicity, family genetics and sun exposure also are factors with regard to the long term result. A scar cream can be a consideration.
