How Long Until my Dissolvable Stitches Dissolve?

2 weeks ago I blacked out and broke my jaw in two places. Plus, I had to have stitches in the inside of my lip and on the outside just above my chin. Sort of in the crease. They still haven't dissolved. I know I have more problems than them, but I am concerned the surgeon may have to take them out. I have had braces & wires on for almost 2 weeks. Come Monday he is going to x-ray and make sure it is ok to remove the wires with bands. Then I will be in bands for 2 weeks, but braces only 1 more.
