Collagen or granulation tissue continues to form around silicone injections for the rest of your life.
The granulation tissue is partial collagen forming around silicone drops and is a continuous process for the rest of one's life. That is why silicone in the lips may look good for 2-3 yrs before the excessive collagen formation continues and the lumps and bumps start to appear and continue to enlarge slowly.
