Duration of circumferential abdominoplasty

A circumferential abdominoplasty typically takes 3.5 to 5 hours depending on how extensive it is and how much tissue is removed. Small variations in the length of time it takes to do this surgery is not as important as the result that you get. There is little difference in the anesthetic risk.

Operative time for a circumferential abdominoplasty

There is such a variability of time regarding the length for a surgical procedure. Factors include surgeon's "speed", patient size, facility organization and other miscellaneous issues. It is obviously better to accomplish the same result in a shorter period of time as some risks will be lower. On average, one may expect around 3.5 to 4.5 hours though some very large individuals may require a far longer period of time.

Abdominoplasty, circumfrential

On average it tkes 4 hours to performe a circumfrential abdominoplasty , if patient has some medical conditions or other physical restrictions it is a good idea to stage the procedure into anterior and posterior parts with few weeks interval. Each stage should not take more than 2 hours. I routinley performe this operatiopn as out patient.

How long does a circumferential abdominoplasty take?

For most patients, a circumferential abdominoplasty will take about four hours. This will vary depending on how much the person weighs at the time of surgery and how much excess skin is being removed. Smaller cases obviously may take less time and patients who are still overweight or who may have a tremendous amount of excess skin may take longer.

How long does a circumferential abdominoplasty take?

The amount of time a surgery will take varies from surgeon to surgeon. There is no ideal amount of time, however, if a surgeon rushes through a surgery or takes an extreme amount of time to do the same surgery, these can be red flags. For a circumferential abdominoplasty the average amount of time would be from 3.5 to 4.5 hours.
