Weight loss after gastric bypass
Every surgeon has a different diet postoperatively. Most surgeons have there patients on an all protein shake diet postoperatively for the first two weeks. Within those first two weeks I've seen patients lose anywhere from 15 to 35 pounds. Usually the weight loss on average for gastric bypass patients is about 10 to 12 pounds per month, especially in the early months after the procedure.
