How Long Before Numbness Goes Away in Lower Breast After Scar Tissue Removed?

I had my implants replaced 3 weeks ago. The Dr needed to remove scar tissue from both breasts. One had more than the other but both breasts are numb and sore the bottom. The soreness & the numbness are slowly going away but I wondered how long it will take. And could the scraping make them take longer to drop and fluff?

How Long Before Numbness Goes Away in Lower Breast After Scar Tissue Removed?

If you have numbness that is improving, it will likely continue to improve for up to a year or more.  "Scraping" the tissues will not make it take longer for the implants to drop- talk to your surgeon about exactly what was done, and what he/she expects for your final result.

Without knowing exactly what was done in the opereating room makes it difficult to impossible to answer some of these questions.  If your numbness is improving, then it is likely that it will get better.   Usually it can take a few months for the implants to drop.

Numbness in breast after implant replacement

The scar tissue which is removed at the time of breast implant replacement is the capsule which forms around the breast implant. The new implant will form a new capsule which settles like your first augmentation, perhaps faster in the relaxed skin envelope. Best of luck... more

Numbness after implant replacement

At three weeks post-op, some numbness and discomfort is expected. The soreness should resolve over the next three weeks. It may take as long as 6 months for the numbness to go away. There really isn't any "scraping" when a scar capsule is removed. The healing time (and settling time) is comparable to the original augmentation.
