How Long After TT Can I Begin to Sleep on my Side?

I had a tummy tuck on Nov 17 2011. So I am 10 days post op and having a hard time getting any sleep on my back. When can I sleep on my side again.

Sleeping on Side after Tummy Tuck?

Thank you for the question. It is always best to ask specific post operative instructions/ questions of your operating surgeon who knows you and your situation best. Generally speaking, my patients are able to sleep on their side ( fetal position) starting about 2 weeks after surgery. I hope this helps.

Sleep Position After Tummy Tuck

Following a tummy tuck procedure, patients are generally most comfortable sleeping on their back with their hips flexed (lounge-chair position) or on their side with their hips flexed (fetal position). There is no medical reason why patients cannot sleep on their side immediately following a tummy tuck. This should be dictated strictly by your own comfort level.
