how long until after liposuction/Breast augmentation can you have sex? I'm planning on having surgery in 3 weeks and I am curious how long after my surgery until I can have sex? I've tried researching it online and some people are saying 2 to 3 weeks and that kind of stresses me out :) .... so is that the recommended timeframe? :(

A patient can usually have sex after two weeks after cosmetic surgery and sometimes sooner. You should ask your plastic surgeon. The main problem would be potential bleeding which would require further surgery but fortunately this happens infrequently.

As you can see from the answers below, there is no one correct answer to your question. Clearly you dont want to have sex if you are in pain from either the liposuction or the breast augmentation. Strenuous activity after breast augmentation

Hello and thank you for the question. In general with liposuction, we allow people to resume light activity at about 1-2 weeks, depending on the extent of the surgery and assuming the patient is feeling well enough to do it. I prefer my breast augmentation clients to wait no less than a month to resume upper body activity, while lower body activity may be resumed at 2 weeks. Dear Charie, in most cases after any surgery, breast augmentation, liposuction, etc I advise my patients to be careful to avoid any strenuyous activity for at least 3 weeks. This would also include sex. Regardless of what part of your body you exercise, your blood pressure is increased throughout the body and could cause brusing or bleeding.

As a general rule sex after surgery should be comfortable, and pleasureable, and of course pain free. After augmentation you should let things settle in for several days, same for lipo suction too, though after if it is comfortable and pain free you should be good to go. It really depends on when you feel comfortable to participate in this type of activity. As you mentioned it is generally takes 2-3 weeks. I allow all my Breast Augmentation patients to return to the gym after 2 weeks and liposuction patients can return sooner if they feel comfortable enough.
