In 2005 I had my 1st lipo. In 2007, when I was 29 y/o I was detected with Brest cancer. I had an operation, radio’s & chemotherapies. At the moment I’m using Tamoxifen. I was told that my extra weight is not real fat, but water & inflammation. I wonder if I can do a 2nd lipo & if I’ve a higher risk of thrombosis and infections.

Before going ahead with surgery you should talk to your oncologist to make sure that it is ok for you.

Yes with a full medical OK from your oncologist. There are increased risks of DVT's but if pre operative and intra operative precautions are taken than all should be acceptable. From MIAMI Dr. B

Additional surgery in close proximity

There is a higher risk of DVT (clots). However, use of prophyladctic measures generally minimizes this risk.

Liposuction

If you have swelling from water and inflammation then liposuction is not for you. If you have a localized accumulation of fat in one body site or a few sites, then liposuction could reduce that mass. There is a very small risk of infection and blood clots with liposuction in healthy patients who undergo tumescent liposuction. If your immune status is somewhat weak, from the breast cancer, or the chemo or radiation treatment, then you might be more at risk of a post-operative complication.... more

Liposuction and Tamoxifen

Tamoxifen is an estrogen receptor blocker frequently used in the management of breast cancer. Its use should not interfere with performance or the results of liposuction. The real question to ask is do you have localized fat and good quality skin which would give you a good liposuction result.  Good luck.
