I have a fatty tumor on my left hip. I've had an MRI and they confirmed it was not lipoma, but just a lump of fat. The surgeon says maybe caused from hormones?

She recommended liposuction to that area. It's rather large about 5 in. long and protrudes about 2/3 inches from the hip. It's very noticeable and I cant lay on it for long during sleep, as my leg will go numb.

I've had it for years and am frustrated. How much would lipo cost for this one area, assuming insurance will not cover it? Will it come back??

Liposuction not good treatment for fatty tumor.

Hi. 1)  There is a question about the diagnosis and you have symptoms. 2) Fatty tumors usually come back after liposuction. 3) Surgical removal can be done through short scar.  So this is the way to go.

Liposuction removes fat

Liposuction removes fat and should work for the fat accumulation on your hip. Cost will depend on where you live, what type of anesthesia, and what facility is used for the procedure.
