I need to find someone who works with Liposuction deformities, but can't spend the outrageous sums asked by the most prominent. How can I know a doctor is really experienced in liposuction and fat transfer, etc.? I thought I'd done my homework on my previous doctors, but the results speak for themselves.

Finding a plastic surgeon you can trust
Finding the right doctor to correct a post liposuction deformity can be a daunting task.
The place to start is the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons website and finding memebers in your area.
Always consult at least two doctpors. Ask them to specifically address how they will correct the area of concern.
Ask to see pictures of their results.
Ask to speak to patients who have had surgery with this doctor.
Trust your gut instincts about the sincerity and trustworthiness of the...

Liposuction and Fat Transfer Surgeon
As you have obviously determined, paying more for something doesn't necessarily mean it's better. Liposuction has become such a standard part of most plastic surgery practices that I think many surgeons forget the artistic nature of the procedure. If you're not passionate about the sculpturing nature of liposuction than it's just another surgery to pay the bills. The surgeon should be able to explain how he plans to do the procedure and why he does it this way. Liposuction, when done...

Finding a Liposuction, Fat Transfer doctor I can trust?
Hello,
You bring up a very important topics that go beyond just Liposuction and fat transfer. This may help you as well as others.
Who do you trust - does paying more guarantee good results (I assume this implication from your question) - what is the best way to do ones "homework" when it comes to aesthetic procedures.
TRUST - in my mind, this comes down to communication and honesty. It can mean different things for different patients and doctors. A patient can be...

Fat transfer after by liposuction
Fat transfer by liposuction is a simple procedure that many plastic surgeons could perform. The most important thing is to understand that the results are not always predictable. The fat graft seem to work better in areas where there is already fat present like the buttocks. The liposuction defects are more unpredictable because of presence of scar tissue. the procedure may have to be repeated. If money is an issue there are many plastic surgery training programs where the surgery can be...

Fat transfer doctors
Fat transfer is certainly an option for contour deformities after liposuction. You should definitely ask around in your community for a surgeon qualified to perform this procedure. If you like a specific doctor and are ahppy with results that you have seen, you may want to speak with some former patients as well.

Liposuction and liposuction correction
Dear CLK, I am sorry that you have had this experience. Many of the top Plastic Surgeons work with Residents and Fellows who are training in the field. I work with the Residents and Fellows at the University of Toronto and the program charges very reasonable rates- we work closely with them to make sure the results are the same as in our private practices. You can do a small area to see what can be acheived. The correction of other individuals work is difficult and sometimes needs...

Finding a liposuction doctor
There are many experienced liposuction doctors that charge reasonable rates. It is true that as their experience amd reputation increases, so too might their fees. I seems that you need more than just an experienced liposuction doctor - you need a doctor experienced in liposuction revisions and correction of liposuction-associated deformities.
You need to make sure your physician is board certified in plastic surgery (it is quite possible that your original liposuction was performed by a...

Finding a lipo specialist for revisions
Form your question it sounds like you need a revision of some previous work that didn't turn out well, so you are wise to do your homework and find someone who specializes in body contouring and secondary work. It is true that the most prominent specialists charge a lot but it isn't going to be inexpensive with anyone qualified. Your best bet is to focus more on experience rather than technology. In the end it will take some effort to shop around until you find someone you trust. A general...
