Why is Liposonix Generally More Expensive Than CoolSculpting?

Liposonix and CoolSculpting seem like similar procedures, but the prices I was quoted were quite different. Liposonix costs $3500 while CoolSculpting costs $1500. And even on this site, the average prices for these two procedures are also different. What makes Liposonix more expensive?

Liposonix vs. CoolSculpting

Usually, Liposonix is done by the physician or physician's extender and takes time whereas the CoolSculpting by Zeltiq is applied to the site and left there during the duration of treatment without an assistant or physician needing to peform the treatment. Please understand though, that the optimum results with CoolSculpting has now been realized to occur often by performing overlapping multiple applicators to a cosmetic unit. Liposonix vs. Coolsculpting for noninvasive body shaping

In order to understand why the costs for Liposonix and Zeltiq coolsculpting are different, it may help to describe how each one works.
