Lipomas usually not painful
Lipomas on rare occasion can be painful if they are located over a pressure point of the body. Most, however, are not painful. If you have a growth that is hurting, it is important to have it evaluated by a dermatologist, and possibly biopsied or removed. Other types of tumors that may mimic lipomas, including angiolipomas, may be painful.
