I had lipo on outer thighs how long before I can run???  I am 2 wks post op and had very little removed (400 cc's out of each) and I am an avid runner and was told I could resume activity, however it is soooo painful to run. Please anyone who has some advice do tell. I am doing all the dr. said to do; ice, compression etc.. thanks

Exercise after liposuction

Some surgeons might make you wait two or more weeks. I have allowed some of my patients to exercise earlier but I usually like to examine them prior to their resumption of activities.

Return To Exercise After Liposuction

In your case, it really is just about when you feel that you can resume your running activities.  After the first week, I give patients the OK to return to exercise activities.  However, it really just depends on the level of discomfort you are having.  Everyone recovers at their own rate, so just be patient and give it time.  I would continue to ice and stretch out the tissues, as you need to, and hopefully within the next week you will be good to go. more
