Will Lipo on Hips Affect my Tummy Area? (photo)

I am considering lipo on my stomach, hips and back. However my surgeon says lipo on my stomach will leave loose skin as I still have stretch marks from pregnancy. My question is, if I have a little loose skin that goes round to my hips, but no stretch marks at all, and only rolls when I lean to the side (shown in pic), will lipo on my hips leave me with loose skin and also, if its effective, will it leave my stomach area looking strange because it has been left alone?

Will Lipo on Hips Affect my Tummy Area?

The skin on the hips tends to shrink pretty well after liposuction, so the risks of loose skin there are small. Doing liposuction on an area like your stomach where there are stretch marks can leave wrinkled skin that might not look normal. That might then require a tummy tuck to correct that.

You should consider seeing one or more additional plastic surgeons in consultation who should be able to provide you with more helpful recommendations. more

The flank region usually responds very nicely to liposuction and if done correctly the stomach area should not... more

Liposuction on hips affecting tummy

I think you need to ask your plastic surgeon this question, but in general, the flanks often respond well to liposuction particularly if you do not have stretch marks in that area. In your situation, a tummy tuck with flank and hip liposuction is a common operation with good results. The other thing to consider is - what are you calling "hips"? I'm not sure it's clear from your pictures. I recommend a second consult with a plastic surgeon... more
