I was wondering if I could receive some advice regarding the appearance of my lips. From the front I think they are a nice shape, albeit slightly lop-sided however from the side I feel they become non-existence. I am very seriously considering lip augmentation, but the surgeon I spoke to didn't seem genuinely interested in my appearance but rather getting me in and out of the room and that I pay at the end of the consultation and for the procedure! I would like the most natural "feel" as well. HELP!

Start with restylane or juvederm and then see how you like the results.

How best to augment my lips?

I have performed lip augmentation with fillers and lip implants for over 20 years and IMHO, the most important thing to consider in lip augmentation is the proper aesthetic size and proportion of the lips. From the photo your upper lip is slightly larger than your lower lip which is aesthetically out of balance, IMO. The upper lip should be no more than 75%, of the size, of the lower lip. First change your surgeon to some one who will give you the time before and after the procedure. The shape of your lips is very good, you just nned to fill them up but retain the natural look. Start with Hyaluronic acid, short acting. If you like the result then fat transfer.

If your photo is accurate, it would seem that lip augmentation would not improve your appearance . The most natural feel is what you now have. Get another opinion from someone who can see you in person.
