Morbid obesity and cancer

There is no risk of developing cancer after a gastric bypass. However there is an extremely large risk of developing cancer with morbid obesity. If anything, the gastric bypass will decrease your risk of developing cancer due to the fact that it will cure your morbid obesity. There are multiple cancers that are associated with morbid obesity.

Gastric bypass and cancer

There is no connection between gastric bypass and cancer.  There is an association between cancer and morbid obesity.  There is an increased risk of developing certain cancers if you suffer from morbid obesity. Cancer risks is increased for uterine, esophageal, ovarian, breast, colon, prostate, and cervical cancer.  By losing weight with gastric bypass surgery you should decrease your risk of developing these cancers.

I would like to see a study done on this as I know two people now that had the procedure done in the 90s that have cancer. It was found at the procedure site.
